ASDA Food Drive Success and a Huge THANK YOU from Clacton Foodbank

20th June 2023

We recently raised awareness of the Asda Food Drive which took place between 1st and 7th June and coincided with Volunteer’s Week. This was a national event with the collections made in our local Asda store donated to Clacton Foodbank, all of which are very gratefully received and will help support local people in food insecurity.

During the one-week food drive the total weight of goods collected from generous Asda shoppers was 561kg; this means approximately 505 meals Clacton Foodbank will be able to distribute to local people who find themselves in food insecurity.

This food drive has been a wonderful success and Clacton Foodbank are deeply grateful to Asda, to their staff, to the volunteers who took part, to the wonderful caring generosity of Asda’s customers and to the Clacton Lions Club who collected for us on two of the days.
